Welcome Message from the Principal

Yaáééh and welcome to Tsé Yí Gai High School! Our school is located in the northeast corner of McKinley County in the historic hamlet of Pueblo Pintado, and is part of the Gallup-McKinley County Schools. Although T.Y.G.H.S. is a public school, due to its unique location, one hundred percent of our students are Navajo. Most of our students still speak Diné as their first language. This adds a rich cultural aspect to our school, as we encourage our students to maintain their language and culture in order to help preserve their rich heritage. We welcome parents and guardians to visit the school, anytime. We invite you to sit in with your students in class, and to dine with them at lunch. We encourage parent participation in the Advisory School Council, in Parent/Teacher conferences, and to attend other academic oriented events, such as back-to-school night, math and literacy night, etc. Please feel free to contact me anytime you have a question or concern. The safety and educational growth of your students are always our first priorities. Thank you for allowing us to help your students prepare for their futures.
